My MISSION
My mission is to work together with families to help develop a love of
learning within the child while helping them to recognize the talents, abilities and strengths they were born with as they further
their education, and begin their journey to discover their mission in
life.
My GOALS
My goals are two fold. First, whether we are working to improve reading or math skills, it is my goal to provide the
environment and order to allow your child to develop his or her "will" without
the interference of a "will" that would destroy his or her love of learning. My
goal is to teach your child how to think and not what to think, by allowing them to develop their intelligence.
Second, I hope to teach
families the Montessori philosophy so the family can incorporate the
philosophy at home as well...providing consistency and order for the
child. "Works" are important to children because, unlike adults who do
work to improve our environment, a child does work for himself--he or
she is busy creating himself, busy forming a foundation that will be
beneficial for the rest of his or her life--as they become men and
women. As I will be working on ways to improve reading and/or math in addition to the regular Montessori classroom teacher, I will not necessarily be using "Montessori materials" to teach those skills. However, I still believe that learning comes from within, and will continue to nurture those philosophies that Maria Montessori embraced.
